The artist I have selected for my indie magazine front cover is young white and male. He stereotypically looks like what should be on an indie magazine with his long scruffy hair, tight jeans, tie, blazer and shirt. The colours of the background are similar to the colours he is dressed which makes the magazine look more suitable for its audience. The main colours that I have used for the text are red and black, the text is also bold and clear this was done so it would stand out and be more appealing to my target audience. For this magazine front cover I experimented with something new, I added the title on the left of the page and also rotated it title. I did this because I wanted to try something new and distinctive however from my research I discovered that most magazine front covers have the title in the middle and the font is usually the right way round. From this I believed that it would be best to keep the title similar to what normally is portrayed in magazine front covers. The layout of my magazine front cover is organised as I have structured it from what is most important at the top with a larger font and what is least important at the bottom with a smaller font. This was done so the audience direct their attention to what is significantly more important. I have included that this magazine is an “independent style” magazine which would have an impact on the target audience as they would believe that this magazine this is exclusive and unique. The price that I have chosen is £1.95 is this is because it is affordable for this audience.
