Analysis of Double Page Spread- NME

This double page spread this from an indie magazine NME. The title of the contents is “The Teenagers” referring to the band which is clearly represented in the picture as it shows three young white males. No females are included in the image and the boys look as if they feel very conformable and laid back with both their music and each other. This image could also be a refers to their sexuality however behind the boys are posters of girls that are in very much revealing clothes telling us what their interests are and referring to how a teenagers room would look like.  The colours that have been used are bright, bold and appeal to the audience as they are likely to be preferred by “teenagers”. This double page spread has little text compared to the R&B contents page, it tells its readers what they “need to know” by adding a small paragraph on the bottom left had corner the reason for this might be that if the reader didn’t want to particularly read the whole contents page it is able find out what’s going just by reading the little paragraph with all the key points. The colour for the box is blue and the text colour is black and white this was done so the readers are quickly able to identify it and read it. Another section has also been included titled “Everyone’s talking about...” the effect of this immediately results to grab the reader’s attention because they would be interest in what is currently going on. The section has been organised into a neat order as subheadings, pictures and text are all provided. The text and subheadings are bold making it easier for the target audience to read and also images are provided.
